You may remember me as the accompanist for the Choir at Central. Well, I am now a professional musician, still working with choirs, as the Organist-Choirmaster of St. Mary's Episcopal Cathedral in Memphis. We have three choirs -- the Cathedral Choir (adults), the Boys and Girls Choir, and the Good Shepherd Choir (young children). In addition, I have a Gregorian Chant Schola which studies chant music from the original manuscripts and performs it as authentically as possible.
My choirs are recording a CD for release in the fall of 2003, and the Cathedral Choir hopes to tour in England in the summer of 2004. We also have a concert series at the Cathedral, which presents performers in many genres throughout the year. In addition to playing the organ for services at the Cathedral, I am a concert organist, and have performed in the United States, England, Scotland, Germany, Switzerland, and Italy.
Further education after leaving Central includes a Bachelor of Arts degree from Lambuth College, Jackson, Tennessee, and Master of Music, Master of Sacred Music, and Doctor of Musical Arts degrees from the University of Memphis. I am a Fellow of the American Guild of Organists. One of my interests in the field of music is the English composer Herbert Howells, and I have published several articles about the man and his work
