Stan Justis, CHS'63 died Thursday, shortly after 9PM at St. Francis Hospital in Memphis. His dear friend of 52 years, Julie Johnson said that Stan had battled numerous health problems for some time.





Stanley H. Justis, 63, of Memphis, passed away April 2, 2009 at St. Francis – Park Hospital. He was a retired building materials representative for Wittichen Lime & Cement Company. Mr. Justis was a 1963 graduate of Central High School and a 1968 graduate of Memphis State University where he was a member of the Kappa Alpha Order. He also served on the board at Elmwood Cemetery and was a deacon at Woodland Presbyterian Church, which remained a central part of his life. He served in the United States Army and was an animal lover whose passion was to rescue needy animals. Mr. Justis is survived by cousins, E. Jeff Justis, Marshall Hutchison, Eugene Bronson, the Govans, and dear friends Julie Greer Johnson, Jim Walton and many others. Visitation will be Sunday, April 5, 2009 from 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. and funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Monday both at Memphis Funeral Home Poplar Chapel. Memorials may be directed to Woodland Presbyterian Church, the Humane Society and Elmwood Cemetery.
