Dickie Cooper 1945 - 2005

Richard 'Dickie' Cooper, a developer with the Dial Companies who was involved in projects in Southaven and Horn Lake, died Thursday, November 3, 2005, at his home in Omaha, Neb. He was 59.

Cooper joined the Omaha-based Dial Companies in 1994. He had been a development principal, or manager, for much of the Southlake Center development in Southaven, and he served as the managing partner for the DeSoto Commons development in Horn Lake.

Altogether, Dial attributed more than 18 million square feet of retail development to Cooper.

Cooper was also a principal in Mid-Region Development, one of the Dial Companies' subsidiaries.

Terry Clauff, who along with Steve Clary of Little Rock serves as managing agents for DeSoto Commons, said he and Clary likely would appoint a managing agent to serve as the primary contact for DeSoto Commons.

Clauff said no service arrangements had been made for Cooper Friday, but he thought services might be set for Tuesday in Omaha.

Cooper leaves his wife, Robin Cooper; a son, Richard Cooper Jr., who works as a development agent for Dial Companies, and four grandchildren.
Married - Three children.
