The free sprits and fun loving showed up as characters ranging from a flower child to a pirate; while the rest of the assembly showed up as fogies. However, both the young-at-heart and the oldsters partied until almost 9:30 at the Coletta’s near Bartlett. Attending her first post-graduation event was Bonita King Middleton, who now resides in Germantown. Attending his first SupperClub was Danny Adair, who was visiting the river city from his home in Goleta, Ca. One has to wonder how both these two have manage to stay so youthful looking through the decades. For the first time we had a trivia contest and, in a tiebreaker with Sandra Dodson, Larry Diamond CHS’65 won a free meal. The questions, in keeping with the Halloween spirit, what was the name of the local ‘50’s radio program, broadcast from the Peabody Community Center, that was designed to keep Memphis kids home on Halloween night? Sandra was the only Warrior to correctly answer “Goblin Giveaway”. The second question was what was the name of the local WHBQ-TV program that was hosted by Watson Davis’ alter ego, SIVAD? Larry Diamond was the only Warrior with the correct answer, “Fantastic Features”. “Fantastic Double Features” would also have been acceptable. The tiebreaker, which Larry got correctly, was what did SIVAD stand for? The correct answer, Davis spelled backward. Those present voted to have future SupperClubs every two months.
