Here are a few shots of heli in fire services. Local logging and transportation bussiness choppers - the Columbia and others come to the aid of CDF (California Department of Forestry) and the NPS (National Parks Service) and CSP (Califonia State Parks)when neeeded to fight fires. The Black and White Photos here in this page are from a collection of historical data and are in display at the Samoa Cookhouse. It is a restaurant with great family style dinning. They were good enough to let me shoot some of the collection. Also part of their collection and displayed within the restaurant are various and numerous Lumberjack and logging equipment. Is a very interesting place with good food and a rich history of the logging industry. A small community, Samoa, with employee housing, recreation, and school based on the logging trade. Just west of Eureka California - a couple miles away on the west side of the Bay. There are also a few shots from the California State Park in Eureka California which bears a historical collection of large logging equipment used in the harvesting of timber. It was once the Base of Operations for the USA and Ulysses Grant when general under US Authority. Quit impressive! T.
