It has never been an "ordeal" to go through your other galleries -- it just took more time to search out the gems, and the discoveries were always rewarding. Your last two galleries, however, are a joy to behold. You only pick jewels now.

Ahh! Thank you Phil once again for weighing in here about this series. I wasn't sure how three pictures of the same monkey with the same bottle would fly with the viewers, but I guess there was enough intrigue and variation in the monkey's behaviour to make it stand on its own in the series. And your encouraging feedback tells me I'm definitely on the right track with these ones. Also, thanks for the advice about editing and redundancy. I don't mind that it "haunts" me. Infact that's probably one of the best advice you've given me about choosing content for a gallery. The strict discipline has made me a stronger and more effective communicator (I think) and forces me to show only the best of the best! So it doesn't have to be an ordeal for anyone to sit through my entire gallery anymore!

Redundant editing can take the edge off the meaning of our images by repeating the same point over and over again. By including all these of three images, you are anything but redundant, Celia. Each image contributes its own meaning to the whole -- there is a definite progression here, as the monkey becomes increasingly frustrated with its exploration. I never meant to haunt you -- only remind you that less is usually more when it comes to presenting our images to others. In this case, however, every image adds a distinctly different layer of meaning to the process.

Thanks once again Phil & Tim for the great feedback! I was actually debating whether to include these 3 images or not, because Phil's advice about avoiding redundancy always kept haunting me! But it was such a humorous story about an animal's interaction with the human world, that I had to share it. And I could have also appropriately added the phrase "De End" here as kind monkey ends this triptych by showing us his behind. As for the uncluttered background, I was lucky that the dark recesses of the cave and soft lighting were very cooperative that day!

Such a great sequence. How wonderful of the background to stay so uncluttered in all three images.

The perfect closer to the three picture sequence -- you shoot the monkey from behind, as it seems to actually wear the bottle as a hat. It has now truly recycled the bottle, giving it an entirely different function and purpose. And giving the viewer a laugh in the process.
