Guest Chef Tim

The Mee Rebus chef loved the idea of having his picture taken with Tim. Considering that most visitors would never have even heard of his town, it must be an honour for him to have a foreigner from a land so far away visit his small and humble stall. Afterall, he may even think that Tim's feelings were mutual - it's not everyday that you get to meet a very famous Mee Rebus Chef! So the chef eagerly gives up control of the ladle which he uses to mix his special sauce, and urges Tim to have a go at it for the photo. After some encouragement, Tim obliges. He takes the ladle and breaks into a wonderful smile for me. The chef looks on happily at his apprentice cook, but remains close to his guarded secret recipe, ready to take the ladle back anytime!

I also think this is a wonderful photo of you, Tim. Your smile is so warm and the wide angle actually thrusts you into the front, making you look friendly and approachable. An intimate portrait during a memorable moment!

I think that one of the best pictures I seen of me - I look pleasant. You're right it was a highlight of the trip for me. That man was so delighted to present his "art."

Thank you Phil & Liz for sharing with me the simple joy you feel of Tim's wonderful encounter with the local folk! It was a very warm and memorable moment. Even the colours they were wearing reflect their connection and the wonderful spirit of that moment together!

Even those of us who were not there can appreciate the happiness shown by both men. Yay!

This has to be the highlight of Tim's visit to Malaysia. I love the look on the face of the chef, too. While a posed shot, it has great meaning to all of us who where there.
