Having just recently been "chosen" to become a homeless young calico cat's beloved, this picture resonates with me strongly. The peace and tranquility and mutual trust shown here produces an upwelling of warmth in my heart, and I am so happy for both this man and feline, so secure in their relationship that they have become unconscious together. The lighting is soft, natural and discrete, on his sleeve and the cat's face, and the hint of flower décor on the sheets just adds to the sweetness of the moment. I love the fact that they are "spooning," and so beautifully balanced by the pillows. A delicious photo, Cecilia!

loving bond that goes far beyond the 'human' condition.. pure emotions that relate kindness in any type of being. beautiful image that speaks of trust and love.

Thanks Phil for coming back to check out my latest additions to this gallery. This fortunately isn't the cat that died. He's still very much a part of our lives, hanging out just 5 feet away from me even as I write. I've made countless images of our cat but this has to be one of my favourite "family" pics because it expresses the closeness, tenderness, harmony, vulnerability and complete trust that we share with each other. Besides, I couldn't resist making a picture of the two favourite men in my life spooning together!!!

This one got by me -- it is a warmly incongruous image of CE and friend, both in a catatonic state. (Could not resist the pun.) Is this the cat that recently died? If so, this is a fitting way to remember it. If not, it is still a worthy celebration of a pet's role in your life. Elegantly designed, right down to the asterisk in the lower right hand corner that organizes the image along a diagonal plane for you. Black and white was a good choice as well -- it simplifies the content, and as usual, it tends to make an image timeless.
