Nakla Mosque

When Arab invaders first brought Islam to North Africa in the 7th century, many Berbers rebelled but were eventually converted after a few turns in historical events. Now like most villages in Tunisia, a mosque sits right in the heart of the Berber village of Douiret. This restored 13th century mosque located on a higher plane above the cave dwellings becomes the focal point of the village and appears to "protect" all those who live under its teachings.
