The End Draws Near

Rarely do I come across a natural landscape that looks as morbid as this. The mangled, thorny, dying bushes look most frightening and the clouds hanging over them appear to be suffocating the sun, drawing its source of life away. Everything seems to be devoid of life or colour. The greys and dark tones are oppressive and foreboding. This image just wreaks of death and suffering.

I agree with all you say here, Celia. It is truly an image that reeks of death and decay. The location offers still additional context for your deathly theme. You can't be very far from the Kasserine Pass, where thousands died during a World War II battle. Seehttp://www.sproe.com/k/kasserine.html. It's no wonder there are ghost in this image.
