Hi Cecil
I tried to find an image for Christmas for my website at www.awokonthewildside.com, but you don't seem to have any.
Don't worry, I'll source it from somewhere else, but it would be good to use yours and give you credit.
Btw, just saw the awesome pix of Dawn and Dev's wedding, wow, they are great. You're a wonderful photographer, keep it up. It was good spending time with you all recently in Melbourne.
Cheers
Ida

Hi Steve,
Thank you for visiting my gallery.I actually check for photographic trip during my research on guilin and saw a site that states a professional chinese photographer conducts photographic tour and on clicking on that site was brought over to Lychee Travel. So, to start of they have a bogus sort of site claiming a photographic tour by a photographer but in the end, its not so, and its just like any other trip.In China, each state and town have their own tour guide and Lychee Travel will have to pick their tour guide which means that as you travel to each state and even town you may get a new tour guide (I give a standard tip of us$3 per tourist per tour guide and driver (total us$6) if I consider them to be good).Lychee Travel is OK and Lucy Pang is a very nice and caring lady. I paid some deposit upfront for confirmation.
If you truly want a photographic trip, you must insist that Lychee Travel tell the tour guide in no uncertain terms that this is a photographic trip and that you want photographic situation. for example, I insist that I want a set up (in guilin) of the commaran fishing and the commarans fishing and the tour guide did but the guy just pose by the shore and there was no fishing and no grass carp were caught and all I have were pictures of the fisherman, his boat and his commarans, 9refer to my gallery on guilin).
On the other hand I went to Yunnan and in Lijiang I took a boat ride to watch the comarrans catching fish and got some beautiful shots of fishes being caught by the commaran but the boat is not the right kind and the fisherman is in normal western clothes.
You really need to insist to get what you want and even after insisting you might not get what you want. You MUST insist on sunrise and sunset whenever possible and it must be stated in your itinerary. The itinerary is like your bible during that time, so the more detail the less misunderstanding there will be. remember you have a lot of gears so 2 persons to 1 seat minimum and the back 5 seats is useless as its bouncy and also use for anybody who needs to lie down and sleep, so for 5 persons on tour it should be a 15 to 18 seater and ensure 2 very important things good air con and suspension. The price you are paying is not cheap so ask for the best, tell them to let you know the model, age of the tour bus. Your transport is of vital importance, they are many tour bus in China with really bad suspension and you bounce around like hell.
insist on hotels in the centre of town so that at night you can walk and shop around, check the hotel names and check on the map to see where it is. Remember, China has its own 5 stars hotel (their 5 stars is our international 4 stars and so they have 6 stars.
Hope this is helpful and do not hesitate to ask some more if you need to, glad to help a fellow photographer
By the way that tour guide is a she and her name is also Lucy.

Hi Cecil!
Thank you for sharing all your nice pictures and experiences from your trip to Guiling and Jongli. I'm planing to go there next end of may and was just looking around to get some inspirations. And I really got it. Also thank you very much to be so frank and honest when coming to tell about the circumstances around the trip. It will be very helpful for me. Even the sign you have make pictures of will help me to prepare.
Thank you very much!
Tommy

Cecil

THanks for your visit. I did not use a polarizer for that particular shot you asked about.
By the way, my wife is from Singapore. I have been there twice. It is very nice.

Cheers
