Raped
by John Routerer

Cheshire UK

I was trudging up a path beetween the crops late on, just hoping that the last bit of sun just might peep thro the clouds, the dog back at the farm behind me alerted the farmer's wife, "Taking Photo's" she shouts, adding.."Let me have one if it's any good"
Hope she likes it, but i'm sure i'll take a better one when I return.

I like the contrast too. That is some vivid bright yellow. Very nice.

Very nice contrast between the sky and the field.

Wonderful, love the contrast of those ominous clouds and the bright yellow of the field!

I keep looking at all this rape around thinking there must be a good picture there somewhere - you found it!!

Magnificent lighting, and you made the best of it. I'd also try cropping the bottom to give a 1/3 - 2/3 ratio between foreground and sky. But it's beautiful just as-is!

I thought the light in the thumbnail was more dramatic - still very nice though. I think you could get two good shots out of this - one with the bottom inch cropped out (a skyline shot) and one with the top inch cropped away (a shot of rapeseed crop with silhouetted trees as a backdrop).

Very dramatic image - the contrast between yellow crop and sky works well: have you noticed how much rape is being grown this year in the UK?

Very surreal looking. Excellent shot.

Beautiful shot! The steel gray sky really sets off that striking yellow of the mustard. (If that's what it is...) Great light too.
