Experimentation
by ifotog

This week I had the opportunity to test a few new pieces.

Lower right image is full captured frame.
Red square is approximate crop area.

I was looking to see if this new zoom is "sharp enough."

The camera was set up in the next room (min focus is 20-ish feet),
shot through a doorway, with remote release.
Single flash fired via remote trigger (ST-E2) into an umbrella to my immediate right
(hence the "eye reflection").

Hopefully next week I'll get some eagles.

Wow, a Sigmonster. I understand now. Looks sharp, I bet if you can keep up the shutter speed and/or keep the lens still, it will be a winner.

It looks like you have the long lens to capture the eagles. Good hunting.

Very effective. Would make a great mental health poster about schizophrenia ;-)

Holy Cow, now that's an "IN Your Face" kind of photo! And it's sharp as a tack. So this is THE piece of equipment for photographing eagles. I see some full frame head shots of bald eagles coming up ;-)

Have to say that's pretty sharp..
