Jim Thode

A Metal Lathe, the workhorse of the Industrial Revolution.

This is a Hamilton 16" x 60" metal lathe. It is around a hundred years old and still going strong. They just don't build things like they used to. Originally it was belt driven from an overhead line shaft. Now it is powered with an electric motor driven 2" leather belt that is mounted on the back. No home should be with out one.

I love the effect you've created Jim - and the lighting ain't too bad either ;-)
