This pendant represents a few symbols out of Norse Mythology. The tree represent Yggdrasil, the origin of life/knowledge. The symbols around the outside are one of the Runic alphabets, called the Futhark after the first couple of letters. The story goes that Odin hung from Yggdrasil for seven nights and gave one of his eyes in order to bring the gift of language, the alphabet, to mortals.
