A very tiny fly approx 5mm long - sorry don't know the name of it, it caught my eye with its red glowing eyes... Was shot hand held using high speed sync. flash (580ex tilted down)

95% crop (had to reduce for here)

Canon EOS 350D ,Canon EF 180mm f/3.5L Macro USM
1/500s f/16.0 at 180.0mm iso200 with Flash full exif

That is so awesome Gary! The detail is just amazing. Check out that eye and the hairs on his back! He for sure could be a candidate for laser hair removal! Beautiful job.

Amazing. Such great detail. Before looking at these pictures, I had no idea there was that much detail on a fly or other bug to be seen. What is he sitting on? The yellow color really complements the picture well.
