I dont think that I could get away with lightening the back ground as it would effect the wings too much and look unrealistic IMHO... thanks for your comments....

Nice shot. Love the colours. Agree that a lighter background might have been nicer (maybe lighten it is PS).

That's pretty close! A lighter background would have helped (carry some light coloured card around?)
