This is a Christingle... Christingle is a service held near Christmas in England and other parts of the world. The children all have collecting boxes in the shape of candles and fill them over the preceding weeks and the money goes to the children's society. The Christingle represents the light of Christ in the world. The orange represents the world, the red ribbon is the blood Jesus shed for us, the four sticks with their fruits represent the four seasons and all the fruits of the earth' and the candle is of course the light of Christ.
