I selected this as one of my Four Best of the 2004 to represent both the zoo where I have taken a number of photos that please me and the 16mm Zenitar lens which is my way into the world of the fish-eye. I feel this image makes good use of the perspective offered by this lens without being too terribly distorted. To take it I selected the right giraffe - just tall enough to reach over the rail but not tall enough to bend down to where I held my hand. That required the tongue to stretch out to get the zoo pellets. I shot several frames but this was the best in terms of the tongue placement and the overall framing.
