Morning Looking East

Somewhere between Hays and Salina, Kansas, along I-70

Traveling the Rockies and the high desert seems like cheating. Shooting the plains is much more challenging.

Canon EOS 5D ,Canon EF 17-40mm f/4L USM
1/400s f/6.3 at 25.0mm iso100 full exif

A beautiful Kansas vista. You were in the right place a the right time.

Rod's right - The lighting really makes this shot just glow. I'm a fan of the mountains, but sometimes there's as much drama in distance and span as in height. Nicely done.

Great processing to bring out the lighting.

I agree with Bruce. It's amazing for the sheer size and vista. It's totally different from the mountains but every bit as impressive and this photo captures it well.

Next time you're there, Leslie, slow down and enjoy the scenery.
