Nice work love the motion stop on the dog, good training by the owner... used to be a dog handler and did this type of trick with my dog and know how hard to get it right can be

nice shot Carol--it looks like he's very intent on the finish and working hard. dawn

What a gorgeous, athletic, talented, buff Rottweiler.... his handler must be quite talented too! :0) Great capture, Carol...thank you so much for doing a hugely better job than the 2 show Official Photographers at the event. The feet being cropped off is not a big deal in a photo such as this because in our minds we know the feet are there. The focus is on the upper body and head in a shot like this. Compositionally this is more than acceptable! Bruce...his tongue is his trademark in all his photos!

I hear ya Gary, did not have much choice in cutting off Kelvin's legs in this photo. The original can be seen here:http://www.pbase.com/shelbyct/image/112930876 I did use burst from the start of the weaves until the end with Kelvin being the most dramatic coming out of the weaves.

Good focus where it counts. I'm not into dog photography, but in bird photography it is not a good thing to cut off limbs etc in the composition. Looks like you didn't have much choice using a fixed length lens apart from moving backwards.

I'm not into the pet shots, but this one is a very nice action shot. I love the expression on his face.

I really could tell from the thumbnail that this HAD to be a Lesley capture. Jumped off the page at me!

You really have the timing down for an excellent shot!

Love the tongue.
