Late Afternoon at the Beach
by

I hope this is close enough to dusk to count. I don't know the name of this bird - will have to figure it out. I think my time stamp is off as well, I know it was later than 3:30 in the afternoon, but am not sure what time it really was.

This is a Long Billed Curlew - thanks for helping me figure it out. Apparently where I live is their wintering area.

I agree with Jean Claude. It's a Long Billed Curlew. Beautiful lighting...

I think it's a Sandpiper. Super sharp!

Just lovely, that warm light and a great pose of the bird...

Gorgeous late afternoon shot - I particularly like the drop of mud at the end of his beak -and what a beak for probing in the wet sand....

Excellent image. The lighting is great, as is the pose and composition.

that's quite the beak--hopefully someone will point out what it is. You worked the angle nicely in this so as to accentuate the beak--nice shot.

Great light. I like the way you composed the shot also.

The sun is obviously low in the sky ... a lovely image, with the bird well-placed in the frame
