road trip

In early June we drove from Chatsworth (a community in the San Fernando Valley,
part of the City of Los Angeles) CA to Ely, Nevada. Ely is in the northeast
portion of the State, close to the border with Utah. The purpose of the trip
was to watch our Grandson Jake, graduate from High school.

To entertain myself along the way, I shot about 400 photographs from the
passenger seat of the car. Never once did my husband stop so I could compose
a shot. I was delighted with the results from my drive by shooting.

The dessert floor had never looked as it did this day, in our more than 18 years
of making this drive. The bountiful winter rains had caused much new flora to
bloom from horizon to horizon. The sky was a deep and lovely blue, filled with
the most magnificent white clouds, which cast giant footprints across the land.
