The Shuttle Bus, which takes patients from the San Fernando Valley to Kaiser Soucey (Sunset Blvd. actually ;), holds 18 passengers. Everyone more or less is on a different schedule, as far as the number of treatments remaining. Whenever it is someone's graduation day, the last radiation treatment, they bring these treat bags for the rest of us. We all get one as we get on the bus for the return trip.
It is such a big pleasure, to take the little paper sack, and discover what treasures lie within. Today there was a box of juice, an apple, a banana, a little package of tissues, cookies, a peanut butter cup, and lots of assorted candies.
One man named Ken, who I called the head of the Mailibu Navy (he is active in an organization for maritime/naval support, lives in Malibu) supplied cream cheese & chives on wafer crackers..which were really good :)
Friday was Walt's last day. He was a bit grumpy the first day I met him. I realize that many do not feel very well, and I was happy to note that in addition to Mrs. Walter adding the happy daisys to the bags..Walter wore socks with a tiny happy face on them :)). I tried to get a clear shot of that, but i had to lay across the seat and zoom in, while the bus bumped its merry way along the road. I never get seasick or carsick..but this bus is sometimes a challenge for me ;D.
May all your days contain Treat Bags filled to the brim with little delights :))
