Orcas (Killer Whales) & Sea Lions

The wildlife in British Columbia is out of this world - but the wild orcas are my favorite. And you can't go whale watching around Victoria without taking in the sea lions and seals so I've included them here as well. I like to go out with Seacoast Expeditions in Victoria since they always have a naturalist guide to help you understand the habits of the wildlife you see. Christina: What an exciting collection! Well done and very dramatic. As someone else here commented, I too love the richness of the browns on the sea lion photos, beautiful tones. Absolutely wonderful work Christina. One thing I would love to shoot would be Orcas. They are my most favorite of all wildlife. But...since I live in the middle of the US with no ocean visible for at least a 2-3 day trip in any direction...no hopes of shooting anytime soon. But I am glad to say that your images bring them right to me. Thank you for sharing. And for adventuring with conscientious people. So many animal shots I've seen just isolate the subject -- they could be shot in a zoo, but your capture the habitat and surrounding of these magnificant animals, much as does the work of the great national geo photgrapher Frans Lanting, painting a portrait with so much more impact. Very nicely shot.

Beautifull - love these creatures and would love to see them in the wild where they belong. Saw some last year at Sea World, San Diego and although it is good to see them I get that feeling I get when I see a bird in a cage? They are meant to swim in an ocean as opposed to a swimming pool. Got to say they looked well cared for at San Diego and gives a lot of people to see tham close up where they would maybe never get the oppertunity? Jayne and I want to see them truly in the wild ... b4 we die {lol} Thxs for showing us these - splendid :)) ~~ John
