A great blue heron takes a break from mating. It's that time of year for herons and hundreds have migrated to the Victoria area to find a girlfriend/boyfriend for the season.

Nice shot Christina, great catch. Now if this spot I see isn't a flare of some short (which I doubt), I think it is time to clean the CCM of your Nikon. :)

there's definitely a mood in this scene, a calm or solitary one. eek a mate for the "season"? and i thought Americans had a high turnover rate. lol.
