Beacon Hill Park is a 75-hectare (200 acre) park located at the foot of Douglas Street, right beside the Pacific Ocean. About 100 herons make their way to the park every spring to mate and have babies. Beacon Hill Park was originally a disputed piece of land. The park also has a petting farm and about 10 small lakes filled with ducks and geese.
