Appears to be a very likable grandfather! Love the monochrome treatment. GMV

The monochrome treatment, so well controlled, given the difficult lighting, adds to the air of mystery. To me, it echoes memories of a fairy-tale. Great.

Strange in a beautiful way! What is the story behind? Fantastic composition!

Really is a little 'surreal'. The light is that good. V.

Intriguing image - you have to tell us all what was actually going on! I vote for either a clean up or a treasure hunt...

Great composition.

Interesting, crisp photo, very well done. It appears, imo, to be some sort of Jewish activity, perhaps a community clean up type thing, like Cub Scouts do. The one boy whose face we cannot see appears to be wearing a yarmulke. The strings hanging from the boys belts, I believe I have seen Jewish children wearing these as they walk by my home on the way to Temple on Saturday. The man could be a Rabbi, or a Jewish elder, his clothing give that appearance, and he appears to be the boys "supervisor" here as he seems to be holding the collection bag, and the one boy appears to be communicating something to him, in a familiar manner. I could, of course, be totally wrong, but I like to see this kind of photo and try to figure out what is happening, to tell the story even if it is just in my imagination.

Yes.. I'd love to know the story here as well.. What I like is the way the boys are looking and seem to be milling in all different direction. Such action rides through all of them.

Well said by Lawrence. I was drawn in too, wanting to know more about the mysterious relationship between the strange man and the kids. Perhaps harmless, just that we're reading too much into the picture. But it's the way how you'd brilliantly captured the scene that made us feel and wonder. Voted.

I like the treatment. This is about life.

What a fascinating scene. This photo asks so many questions but answers few leaving me totally hooked. I know you don't shoot people as much as other scenes, but based on what I see here, I can only hope you choose to do so more. A really interesting story you've captured here. I have no idea what the guy is reaching for, but the kids seem enthralled. I wonder about their relationship - although it's the hand in the bag and his walking backwards that is so intriguing. The tree trunk to the right adds to the scene also - it really does give the impression of peering into the forest and having the luck to see something that shouldn't or wouldn't normally be seen. The boy's look back further emphasises that. Given this is a candid scene, I know it's impossible to plan all these perfectly complimenting elements but then there only are so many times you can accuse someone of being "lucky" before you have to bow to their gift for capturing the right moment. It's the latter I see here Craig. Huge vote.

This has kind of a strange feel to it. The man looks almost like a cutout.
