Wild RIver, Brooks Range, Alaska, June/July, 2009

On Saturday June 27 we flew our Cessna 182, Juliet, from Merrill Field, Anchorage up to Bettles just north of the Arctic Circle on the south side of the Brooks Range, loaded our gear into Brooks Range Aviation's Helio and Jay flew us up to the Wild Lake, we loaded up our kayaks and over the next five days kayaked the Wild River (which isn't all that wild) back to Bettles. Repacked our plane, flew over to Coldfoot to visit Dirk and Danielle of Coyote Air, had pie at the Coldfoot Truck Stop and then flew back to Wasilla on July 2.
