This Signal Tower was built in 1907 at Blackhead Point of Kowloon to house a time-ball. Precisely at 1 p.m. everyday, a large ball suspended on the top of the tower was dropped to the foot of the mast. This served as the time signal visible to ships in the harbour by checking the accuracy of their chronometers used in navigation. The tower was used until 1933.
