Camels are not usually seen in central India so this family, who was heading in the opposite direction, must have come from further north. Their possessions, including a couple of charpoys, were loaded on to their camels.

The travellers with camels look like they may have been Rabaris. (Who usually are clustered in Gujarat, Rajasthan, Punjab, western Madhya Pradesh...)
