Over and above all of its visual excellence, the image also tells the story/metaphor of life as it cycles from birth, through growth and flowering of reproduction, to death -- and the promise of rebirth. Using the scanner does impose a lot of constraints on possibilities, yet your struggle to overcome these challenges seems to have led to another set of masterpieces. As in all your images, the secret of success lies not in the tolls you use, but in your vision and skill. Thanks for the continuing inspiration, which I always get when visiting your galleries. Sort of an aside, I one had a required course in the mathematical basis of design, where the professor believed that we are attracted intuitively pulled to images/shapes that have a mathematical basis -- such as the geometry of this section of the squash, the geometric spiral of the shell, the dendritic branching in the leaves. I agree with his theory, and I find it interesting to see so many examples here in this gallery, and in other galleries of yours. Thanks!
