As we walked along, the dogs discovered this hole and got all excited. They both squeezed through and disappeared! Then we began hearing growling, thumping, and yelping, and I was terrified that some varmint was killing them! We couldn't call them out, but finally they got tired of fighting with whatever was down there and let Dave pull them out. Ada (the Blue Heeler) had a cut on her nose, and Todd (the Cairn Terrier)had a bloody place above one eye, but they were ok otherwise and absolutely elated at their adventure, especially Toddy. He kept digging at the ground, determined to unearth his new enemy, but he eventually followed us home.
