When I began forming elements of my paintings out of separate pieces of watercolor paper, I had never seen it done before, but I liked the dimensional quality it added. Later, I learned that what I was doing had a name, Paper Sculpture. Each piece is cut free hand from paper that I've painted with watercolors and then formed into the shapes I want, then glued together with gel medium.
