Eric Broadley's first car was an 1172 cc Ford Special. This car was extremely successful an Eric then built a pure sports racer. This was the Lola Mk 1 and Mk1A. In my opinion this is one of the prettiest of sports cars. It competed directly against the Lotus 11 and kicked butt. As I recall it was one of the first race cars to have adjustable suspension. You were able to tune the rear suspension depending upon your capabilities and desire to go faster.
Lola is still building race cars and is one of the oldest continuining race car builders. That last statement was true when I opened this gallery, since then Lola has closed their doors and is no longer building cars. pity.
The Lola Mk 6 was the prototype for the Ford GT 40.
I will add more information on Lola cars as I find the time.
PS.
When I first started this gallery Lola was still in the race car construction
Business, but in the mean time they have pretty much closed down.
