I decided to try photographing some of my model collection.
I am only going to photograph loose models, the greater part of my
collection consists of Hot Wheels. If it is at least a fair
representation of a real car then I will buy it. I usually
obtain at least two of a car. One to keep on the card and the other
to tear off the card and play with.

My set up is fairly simple I had a three sided box for taking
pictures of small things that I would sell on line. I am using the
Canon SX60 HS in Raw and P mode. I started using my Youngnou flash
but it tends to go through batteries quickly so I switched to my
old Canon 430EX in a 24 inch soft box triggered by a Youngnou wireless
remote trigger and receiver.

Most of the toys the Hot Wheels in particular are only about 4-5 inches
from the lens. The SX 60 HS I think does a fair job at taking these
closeups. Regarding processing: I use Adobe CC as I am shooting in raw.
I do only a minimum of processing now that the lighting is set. The photo
is then cropped to 16 X 9 and saved in the full file. I then reduce the image
to 900 X 506 pixels and save that copy in my folder for posting on pbase.

I can not begin to record every model that I have as they total in the thousands.
I am just grabbing some that are easy to get at right now.
