The 804 was the only Formula car and engine that Porsche
ever made as a formula 1 car. Unfortunately Porsche never did
Fully develop the car. It was slightly behind other current
cars of the da, such as the Lotus 25. The best part of the car
was that Porsche hired Dan Gurney to drive it. Dan succeeded in
wining the 1962 French Grand Prix. The Porsche bean counters won out
and the Formula 1 cars were canceled at the end of the season.
Pity that Porsche did not pursue Formula 1 at this time.
