The Bobsy SR3 Porsche was designed by Gerald Mong in his Vangard
race car shop. A total of three cars were made to habdle the
Porsche 901 Flat 6 cylinder engne. This motor produced
some 225 hp in a car that only weighed 1000 pounds.
The chassis was of triangulated aluminum tubes and
the body was of fiberglass.
At Rennsport this car was one of the fastest cars in its
race group alway in the first three.
I have a soft spot for Bobsy cars as at one time
I owned and raced a Bobsy Vangard Formula Vee.
