Shortly after we were married in '72 my wife's Mustang bit the dust and we bought a new Mercury Capri with the 2600cc V6. I enjoyed hot-rodding that car (I could get rubber in the first 3 gears) and it is still one of my favorites. It had a stump-puller for first gear, but after you got out of that it would take off. Imagine my shock recently when I looked up the performance specs and found out that they did 0-60 in 10 seconds. It seemed so much faster at the time, but even the muscle cars weren't really that fast compared to some pretty mundane cars from today.
