Sean you have more lenses than I've had hot dinners... Not my fault ;)

S -

Thanks for you concern. Thankfully everyone in my immediate family is well. But in Chile "Families" are very extended and I don't know for sure about many individuals. For now I just have to assume that no news is good news... On the other hand the destruction in many towns closest to the epicenter is almost unimaginable and it truly breaks my heart to think about these people's suffering and loss.

Sean, I really appreciate the comment you left on one of my macro galleries. I spent quite a bit of time going through your galleries and lens tests. Very well done! Plently of talent too! I enjoyed the Longwood Garden images. Was thinking of a trip down to Philly...two hours south... and a return to Longwood was on the short list.

Thanks for your comments on my panoramic, Had a ton of fun looking through your galleries and leaving votes and comments (I'm very tired and a bit punchy so sorry if any of them are incongruent).

Was honestly shocked to see the number of (few) hits your gallery had --- far, far less than your work deserves.

Hi Sean, thanks for your comments on my recent PAD pictures. You give me too much credit though, the flowers just happened to be there for the picture taking that day, no bigger meaning behind them. But now you got me started, I may post a couple more ;) Thanks again! Franziska.

I visited your galleries, you have excellent photos. To my surprise, you are using old Takumar lenses (screw type)from wich you get excellent technical results when used with your istD. I also have some vintage stuff (screw type Takumar lenses) and before considering buying an istD body, I would like to know if you can use the camera metering functionality when using such lenses.

My fav shots from your galleries are those with simple compositions. You have the ability to isolate and bring forward beauty that is often not visible, except to perceptive eyes. Hope to see more of them, Sean.

Sean:

I really enjoyed looking through your galleries after seeing the comments you left in mine. Your DC pictures are great -- reminds me of when I lived there as a kid. Makes me want to visit again with the camera gear in tow.
Don't worry, I'm not trying to steal your identity!

Great work with istD. Great pics and its good to find people not post-processing the hell out of the images. I really like Chester Co, and July's PAD.
