Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park is one of conservation areas which has been already well known by many people. The government had established Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park area as a nasional park which was established on November 12, 1992 and covering an area of 50.267,3 ha. which administratively is located in 4 regencies of Probolinggo, Pasuruan, Malang and Lumajang, East Java Province. The trip is starting from Ranupani a typical village with people working hard in their field. From there, you can already see the ashes of Semeru's volcano.

The peak of Mount Semeru is 3,676 m above sea level, the highest mountain in Java and one of active volcano. The Tengger Caldera of Mount Semeru is located in the Lumajang Regency viewed from the South. Mount Semeru resembles a perpectly cone-form but in fact it is a dome form with stripefield on hillsides. Temperature in the peak of Semeru ranges from 0 - 4 C.
Frequent 19th and 20th century eruptions were dominated by small-to-moderate explosions from the summit crater, with occasional lava flows and larger explosive eruptions accompanied by pyroclastic flows that have reached the lower flanks of the volcano. Semeru has been in almost continuous eruption since 1967. More than 500 people have been killed by Semeru's eruptions during the last 30 years. The eruptions are commonly moderate to moderately large and some of the eruptions produced pyroclastic flows and/or lava flows. Ten of these eruptions have been fatal.
From Java's highest top, you can see an incredible view over Java and Bali, with many other volcanic peaks around and below. A bit further, in fact very close, Semeru's crater belches out its curling clouds of ash.
