Common Toad - Bufo bufo

We were clearing the garden today, cutting grass and brambles down, as Dave moved a huge piece of bark off our patio; we found 2 of these toads underneath
We think the large one was female and the small male.
This is the large female; she was desperately trying to bury herself backwards to hide from us!

We felt so bad for destroying their home we moved them to our wood and rebuilt her home exactly as it was on the patio, it took us half an hour so fingers crossed she wont notice lol!

I only took a quick snap , so its not as good as I would have liked it; as I didn't want to stress them out anymore; hopefully they will stay underneath the bark!!

glad it was you that found them rather than me... I'd still be screaming. I had a bad experience when a frog threw itself at me once....
