Cooper is Back

I've had Cooper's Hawks come to check out the feeders for many years. The best opportunity was when it would sit in the weeping pine out front. I had an adult that came regularly and would sit for hours. I haven't seen it for years. This year a juvenile showed up. I first saw it sitting on my birdhouse right outside my bedroom window. Those images are in the 2016 gallery. This year it spotted it out back and watched it fly into a deciduous tree out back. I actually got some flight shots! Well imagine my surprise when I looked outside when working on the computer and there sat this years' Cooper sitting in the weeping pine! Luckily I always have my camera ready. I got some shots, but I was too close to the window so it didn't stay long. Later in the afternoon it was back. It also moved and sat in the Japanese Maple out front. It sat there for an hour or more, but the light was getting very dim, so I didn't take anymore pictures. The next image is from this same time. It didn't do much different. It just moved its head around. I've gotten shots of preening and yawning in the past. It just craned its neck once. I haven't seen it again. The adult came regularly , but not this one. BTW, none of them have ever caught any birds at my front feeders.
