This was a new life bird for me. As soon as I saw him, I knew he was different. The bird list had reported the Buff-Breasted Sandpiper in our area and that's what I identified him as. I put him on the bird report that Friday night knowing its rarity in our area and that many birders would love a close look at this guy. When I got home, my friend that I was with, and I checked our bird books and positively identified it.
