Bob and I took a detour to Mammoth Caverns. We opted for a 4-mile 'difficult' tour. I figured I could handle it after hiking to Panther's Den. The cave was cool and the bottom was paved with hard-packed dirt except for the 600 steps. It rained almost the entire time we were on our tour. It was great because we got to see some water features that usually aren't there. We hiked another mile or so after we left the cavern. It was all straight up ad down, but it was worth it because we got to see some small waterfalls that were created by the rains. We saw a lot of wild turkeys along the road sides, and the deer wandered through our camp site each morning and evening. We had to "rough it" because the camp site didn't have power or water hook ups. Only Bob would figure out a way to use our coffee pot--he used the outlet in the restroom.
We ferried acros the Green River in the park, camper and all
And some people don't like cats because their eyes glow...
Another deer in our campground--they liked the acorns
