Aladag

Bob, Bart, and I decided to "see what was at the end of the road" one day and headed up for the town of Aladag in the Adana State of Turkey. We had been part way up the road to go tubing last year, but never to where the pavement ends at the town of Aladag. Shortly before the town we saw a fortress in the distance. After going into Aladaq we turned around and tried to find our way to the fortress. I think we ended up taking the long way through some rugged territory. Our hike lasted for 6 hours if that tells you anything, and of course we crossed a road a short distance from the fortress. But when Bob and I get into these situations we always shrug it off with "we need the exercise". Other photos are from tube trips we did on the Aladag. We had a great time but unfortunately it looks like the river will be dammed up in the future. The Turks need the water for agriculture.
