Finally we went up to the cold and beautiful mountain areas of Northern Thailand.
The plan was to visit Doi Inthanon, Doi Lang, Chiang Sean and Doi Phu Ka.
At Doi Inthanon though we heard that Doi Lang didn't have much birds so we went to Doi Ang Khang instead and we have to skip Doi Phu Ka because ut was just so lovely in Doi Ang Khang we stayed a few days extra.
I won't have time to write any detailed report (yet) and will start by posting some pictures from each site. We shot about 100GB (after deleting the bad ones) and it will take many weeks for me to go through the pictures and process the best ones.
Since I was still injured in my neck we didn't walk around that much and spent some time in the blinds instead. This paid off quite well and we got many close encounters with some exciting species.
I must recommend a visit to Doi Ang Khang during second half of December and early January. The cherry trees are blooming and combined with stunning backgrounds and beautiful birds it's just such a lovely place. Can't wait to go back again.
