After getting ready to leave Butte Montana to head north to the Glacier National Forest, the weather once again played a part in my direction for the day. Weather predictions for that area were wind and rain out of Canada. One guy on the radio even suggested building a giant wall on the boarder to have all the bad weather hit it and bounce back to the Canadians. That’s a thought…

I set my sights for Seattle Washington and it was another perfect day for riding west over the hills and valleys. Lots of twists and turns coming out of the Rockies from Montana into a short stretch in Idaho and then the flat plains of eastern Washington State.

Closer to Seattle the landscape changed as I came to the Columbia River. Then it was back to winding through the mountain passes before coming to Seattle. The gas prices have been relatively stable around $2.15 to $2.30 for premium but the last 3 gallons I got about 70 miles out of Seattle was $2.57. The prices in Seattle are about that price also.

There were reports of a bright light streaking across the skies last night but I cannot confirm or deny that it was Carl’s Harley arriving! The locals think it was a meteor but all I can say is after almost 3000 miles, I’m here Seattle!

I’ll spend Thursday sightseeing and catching up on some laundry and also find a ferry to take me to Alaska.
