Manila Metropolitan Theatre

This historic - but obviously neglected and abandoned - building is made in the Art Deco style. What you see outside is misleading ...
inside a lot of unused rooms are dirty and unkempt, some even have roofs that leak, making them damp as well.

There was a time (a loooong time ago!) when I used to have voice lessons here ... sometimes while waiting for my voice teacher
I watch the rehearsals of the popular show "Vilma In Person" (V.I.P.) which for a time was televised here.

the balcony railings of the lobby hall show transition from Art Nouveau to Art deco! This is truly wagnificent architectural gem that MUST NOT go the way of the High Modern beauty now vanished, The manila jai-alay builing.....sadly lost forever!!!

Hi Adrian! I'm from St. Paul Manila naman - once popularly known as the Broadway of Herran (now Pedro Gil St.)! :-)

Yep, once upon a time in a galaxy far, far, away ... I used to take voice lessons (forgot the name of the voice coach)
to help qualify for auditions into hopefully becoming part of the Metropolitan Theatre Chorus.

Hi Im Paul, form DLSU-Manila, naghahanap kasi ako ng info about Manila Metropolitan Theatre, and i found this one. nabasa ko po ito mula dito "There was a time (a loooong time ago!) when I used to have voice lessons here." I just want to ask kung experience nio po ito. :))
