"Jollibee!" (2)

McArt-2007.301b.JPG

The country's # 1 fast food chain is 100% Pinoy-owned.

The "Jollibee" success story is being taught as a good example in business schools such as Harvard. It is considered
as "the little train that could" because not only did it beat the sales of giant foreign-owned and similarly-fared
fast food businesses here - Jollibee has also broken the market abroad by extending its franchises there!

The secret to its success? To me it's portraying the sense of being community-oriented, having great tasting food
(not bland like what that other popular hamburger-chain serves), cute and child-friendly non-scary mascots (again,
very unlike that OTHER fast food chain!), and a great variety in choice of menu. To top all that, it's more affordable too.

Of course, it doesn't hurt that the Filipino's favorite pastime is, uh, eating ...! :-p

April 27, 2007: Time Magazine reports that the Pinoy-owned "Jollibee" franchise is currently
THE fastest growing fast food chain in the US today! Can you believe that?!! ("Bida talaga ang saraaaaap!") :-9

I miss Jollibee. Wish they would open one here in Perth, Australia.
